Indonesia's policy towards the Increase In World Oil

The Indonesian government has not yet determined attitude to the price of fuel oil (BBM) a few weeks since the world crude oil prices rose through U.S. $ 100 per barel. Until Thursday (21 / 4), Coordinating Minister Hatta Rajasa still ensure that fuel prices will not be raised and the implementation of quota restrictions also not yet implemented. Four options previously presented to the government also has not been decided. Since early February 2011, the price of crude oil has crossed U.S. $ 100 a barrel, the highest rate since the economic crisis of 2008.

A number of parties, including former Vice President Jusuf Kalla and House members Satya W. Yudha, assess, it is time the government raised subsidized fuel prices to reduce swelling in the state budget subsidy fund. However, until mid-April 2011, Hatta ensure the government has not taken any steps to that. There was no thought at all (raising prices).

Do not speculative, "said Hatta answering reporters' questions for the umpteenth time about the fuel, on Thursday (21 / 4). More to fuel restrictions in April was also postponed. Asked how long penundaannya, Hatta said the same." No, we do not practice restrictions. We're not talking about going, when, basically we have not at all restrict it. Later (restriction) it is voluntary, but we are appealing, very appealing, the people who are already using pertamax, do not migrate to the premium, "he said. According to Hatta, the considerations taken by the government for restrictions on fuel is a fiscal consideration, accuracy of subsidies, and price .

So first, the subsidy should be given, in terms of its quota. The second consideration was related to price, so purchasing power considerations, inflation, the subsidy should we keep the appropriate target, "said Hatta. Previously, the government issued four options to address the rising global crude oil prices. The first option is the premium limitation with RFID.

The second option provides two different prices for premium namely Rp4.500 and Rp6.500. The third option premium to increase prices while the subsidy granted Rp6.500 prepaid cards via the banking system. Final option, the government gives subsidies to pertamax and fix the price premium with each Rp7.500 and Rp4.500. The options still must be brought to Parliament before it was decided which ones are implemented. Parliament itself will still be in recess until 9 May.  In fact, the longer the government take a stance, subsidies increasingly swollen.

The allocation of subsidy funds in 2011 budget reaches Rp98, 2 trillion. Ministry of Finance himself admitted difficulty keeping the budget cap fuel subsidies are seeing price increases of factors. Note Kemenkeu, until the first quarter knows this, fuel consumption has reached 25.13% of the budget assumption of 38.6 million kl, which is about 9.7 million kl. Figure is 6.85% higher than the same period last year ie 9.06 million kl. Presumably, the increase is happening because of the increasing number of vehicles in Indonesia
